Legoland!
We surprised the kids last week with a quick trip to Legoland - something we’ve been wanting to do since Baylor’s birthday last June! Between an unexpected move, starting school, adjusting to life in a new city and everything else, we didn’t make it until February :)
We debated bringing all the kids or just doing a big kid trip (with B&B) but eventually decided that we’d be sad if the other kids missed out and Legoland was supposed to be a fairly easy venture (which I can now agree, yes!).
We stayed at the Legoland Hotel (the original) and were SO happy we did. Hands down the easiest place we’ve ever traveled with kids - everything is catered towards them, they make it very easy and have tons of things to do for kids of all ages. The hotel was an experience in and of itself, the theme park aside. The elevators had dance parties when the doors closed, the rooms were themed (you can pick a theme when you book your hotel) and there was even a nightly scavenger hunt for the kids where they can unlock a treasure box and get a free lego set! They hosted dance parties every night, had tons of play areas for the kids and even the toilets were little! :) You walk outside the hotel doors and Legoland is just steps away, which makes life very easy with little ones. Would highly recommend staying at the hotel - made the trip so much more fun.
We did Legoland one day, the Sealife Aquarium the next (would skip this next time and do SeaWorld instead) and hit up a couple local spots for coffee & dinner. We found the beach while grabbing coffee one morning (in pjs!) and came back that night to run the beach, watch the sunset and inevitably get SANDY AF. So good for the soul!
Overall, this trip was super simple with kids (ours are 6 and under) and the rides and entertainment at Legoland were the perfect ages for our kids. We’ve done Disneyland a number of times and have no intention of returning any time soon as it was just too much for our kids ages. We practically had Legoland to ourselves (granted we went in the off season), didn’t wait in line for any ride longer than 10ish minutes, and found very few rides that were too old. Definitely recommend if you have little ones who are into Legos - they go above & beyond to make sure the kids are inspired and indulged in all things Lego. SO fun.
